He was also a Kentucky Colonel and was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash. Bill was a member of First Baptist Church and Soil Conservation Society of America.
He was a board member of the Jennings County Players and served on the board of the Park Theatre Civic Centre. Bill worked 37 years for Soil Conservation Service as the Area Conservationist for Southeastern Indiana before retiring in 1989.
